Mayor Attends Fine Art Exhibition
27th February 2013
Mayor of Dartford, Anne Allen attended the opening night of the Fine Art exhibition Presence on Tuesday 26th February at the What If Gallery in Dartford. The Exhibition was produced by North West Kent College’s 1st Year Fine Artists.
The Fine Artists created work that represented the idea of identity, which they portrayed in 2D media. The exhibition was funded and curated by the 1st Year Fine Artists as part of their course.
Each student presented a written statement with their work to explain their ideas, development and research that went into the paintings, prints and photographs.
Alex Graham, Lecturer in Fine Art at North West Kent College says: “What is really impressive about this event is not only the superb standard of the work, but also the fact that everyone who sees the show is surprised that the students themselves set it all up. From hiring the venue to framing the work and advertising the event on Facebook. it is the students who made the exhibition a success.”
The work is for sale and will be on show all this week and over the weekend, until 28th February. The opening times are from 5.30-7pm at the What If Gallery, 67 High Street, Dartford.
